Today at their regular monthly luncheon, members of the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Industries heard from Autumn, the 2025 Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County Junior Youth of the Year. They welcomed her to practice her speech for the state competition and listened intently as she shared her story. She talked to them about strong communication, about teamwork, about setting goals. She talked to them about the importance of taking care of yourself and the power of a positive mindset and then she got a standing ovation. It was a great example of the power that comes from public schools and communities working together to Educate, Empower and Equip Students to Excel in life and in work. 1. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using the restroom and before eating.
2. When you need to cough or sneeze, do so into a tissue or your elbow
3. Stay home/keep your student home when feeling sick

Thank you, #FZCommunity! Together you took the Kids Heart Challenge and raised $179,000 last year to fund research and more through the American Heart Association. Special S/O to Progress South Elementary, the top school in the state. The Eagles raised $30,000 and educated 118 families on hands-only CPR. “This skill is so important as so many of our young students spend more time with older adults who care for them,” Schnettgoecke said, adding that helping students recognize warning signs and call 911 can save lives. Then she introduced the state’s top fundraiser, Mason, who raised $6,000 last year. The annual Kids Heart Challenge will be back next month. Watch your school for information.
