Capping off Career Technical Education month and Public Schools Week, we want to recognize the 19 high school students who are the first to participate in the St. Charles County Apprenticeship Accelerator. This unique collaboration between the county’s five public school districts, local manufacturers and the USDOL creates apprenticeship opportunities for students as young as 16 interested in manufacturing careers. They complete classwork at school that corresponds with the hands-on learning they do in their 2,000 apprenticeship hours at work. Upon completion, they will earn 45 credit hours from St. Charles Community College and a nationally recognized USDOL apprentice certification. Together, these 19 students will earn about $700,000 working their apprenticeship hours and produce more than $3 million in manufactured goods. It’s one more way our schools and communities come together to Educate, Empower and Equip Students to Excel in life and in work. #PSW25 #FZEqupToExcel

FZSD Parents as Teachers provides families with essential resources, developmental guidance, and support for children ages birth to 5 years. Families who participate are more likely to have students who arrive at kindergarten ready to learn, both academically and socially. They even provide developmental screenings, giving families and educators insight on how to best support each individual learner. It’s a powerful partnership between families and public schools as we set out together on our mission to Educate, Empower and Equip Students to Excel in life and in work. Check out go.FZSD.us/Kindergarten for more information on enrolling your student, and a link to sign up for a screening. #PSW25 #FZEquipToExcel

Today at their regular monthly luncheon, members of the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Industries heard from Autumn, the 2025 Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County Junior Youth of the Year. They welcomed her to practice her speech for the state competition and listened intently as she shared her story. She talked to them about strong communication, about teamwork, about setting goals. She talked to them about the importance of taking care of yourself and the power of a positive mindset and then she got a standing ovation. It was a great example of the power that comes from public schools and communities working together to Educate, Empower and Equip Students to Excel in life and in work. Thanks #FZCommunity for your support of teaching and learning. #PSW25

Our team of school nurses has noticed it, too, and shares a few key reminders to help you and your student(s) stay healthy as we all look toward the end of cold and flu season. 1. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using the restroom and before eating. 2. When you need to cough or sneeze, do so into a tissue or your elbow 3. Stay home/keep your student home when feeling sick Our nurses are so thankful to have you on their team as they work to keep our students and our schools healthy.
