The Center for Advance Professional Studies (CAPS) provides selected St. Charles County high school students hands-on experience as they explore career interests and develop interpersonal skills. This week we spotted CAPS students networking at the St. Charles Regional Chamber of Commerce and conducting a faculty focus group at Emge Elementary. Building the workforce of tomorrow one connection at a time. #FZEquipToExcel

Connecting with our community is a priority, which is why we have sent quarterly newsletters to thousands of mailboxes. But, as the latest edition went to print, our vendor notified us that portions of our district are no longer covered by this service. We strive to connect with all of our neighbors, but printing and mailing are becoming cost prohibitive. We are searching for other services to continue to provide this quarterly update in print, but please encourage FZSD residents to subscribe for this quarterly electronic update. For the eighth consecutive year, each of Fort Zumwalt School District’s four comprehensive high schools ranks among America’s Best High Schools according to US News & World Report. The rankings put all four schools in the top 12 percent of high schools nationally. Fort Zumwalt high schools are ranked among the Top 10 percent of the 359 Missouri high schools on the list. This is not only recognition of the work that is being done at our high schools, but also of the foundation our students receive at our elementary and middle schools, which have also been recognized by US News & World Report. Welcome to the Music Room! Here sound and motion are at play as a class becomes a team. Kindergarteners march to the beat of the boom-whackers while singing the welcome song and reminding each other of where to find important things, such as instruments or Kleenex. 😉 Then they have to synergize to keep “Mr. Stretchy” in the shape of a circle as they wipe, row and sway together singing the Wheels on the Bus. But, when the music stops, it’s time to hold that bubble in the hall as they head back to class. Building teams one note at a time. #FZEquipToExcel

Emge teacher Bridget Evans’ partnership with the St. Louis Blues had Louie dancing with the Stars! The NHL mascot and former player Jamal Mayers stopped by to share the Street Blues program with students and staff, encouraging all to explore opportunities in sports, practice healthy habits, stay positive in school and more. Evans says incorporating these lessons into PE classes has been an incredible way to promote self-growth and community building among students. #FZEquipToExcel
