2nd graders worked together to highlight the accomplishments of important people in the Civil War era. They turned out great!

During today’s Early Release, our teachers spent the afternoon engaged in meaningful PLC professional development. Teams reflected on the four PLC questions and discussed how those guide their collaboration time to better support student learning. #PSEsoars 💙🦅

Dear PSE Families,
We are excited to share that Progress South Elementary has joined the Kids Heart Challenge Lifesavers League. This is a fun and meaningful opportunity for our students to learn about heart health, practice lifesaving skills, and help raise funds for the American Heart Association.
❤️ How to Participate
Families can join our school’s online team by:
Visiting our school page
Downloading the Kids Heart Challenge app
Scanning the QR code on the flyer sent home last Friday
All donations should be made online, and our donation deadline is February 27.
In addition to helping others, funds raised can help our school earn free PE equipment for students, along with other fun incentives. It is a great way to build healthy hearts while supporting our school community.
Thank you for supporting our students as they learn, lead, and make a difference.
Dr. Williams

First Grade is learning about animal habitats and adaptations. Today, Mrs. Carr's class got a hands on learning experience with the "blubber glove" which simulates how the blubber adaptation helps arctic animals stay warm. #PSEsoars

Thank you to the families who came out for the 4th grade showcase! Kids enjoyed showing off their ELA work and teaching others how to play some math games. #PSEsoars

We are so excited to share that one of our fifth grade students, Anayah Miller, represented our school at the district spelling bee and placed third overall out of 14 competing schools. What an incredible accomplishment! We are so proud of Anayah for her hard work, confidence, and perseverance. Anayah will now continue on to the regional spelling bee, and we look forward to cheering her on as she takes the next step. Congratulations, Anayah! #PSEsoars

Our students have been earning so many Eagle Leader Awards this quarter, we're almost out of space! PSE students will go home with their awards at the end of the quarter. We are so proud of them for demonstrating the 7 Habits so often! #PSEsoard

Students are always so excited to see new books join the shelves at PSE! Remember that the PSE PTO is hosting a book fair. Purchases provide the school with "scholastic dollars" that go into purchasing those new books for students to enjoy!
