For fourth graders at Rock Creek Elementary it means feeling confident enough to guide your classmates through the math you’ve been working on. In Mrs. Beseau’s room, plenty of hands went up when she asked for a volunteer to walk the class through their mathematical thinking and reasoning as they applied the standard algorithm that they had been discussing in class.
