Kyle William Davis, FZW; Cameron Jiang, FZE; Benjamin Rhoades, FZN; Erin Schimanski, FZE; and Anooj T. Shah, FZW have been named to the Missouri Scholars 100 by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP). This statewide initiative recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of 100 outstanding students from the graduating class of 2026.
The selection is based primarily on a formula using the student’s grade point average and ACT or SAT score. Each student nominated had to first meet criteria of an “Academic Decathlon,” which included 10 “events” designed to assure the academic strength of the student. To meet the decathlon requirements, the student must have a minimum GPA of 3.750, a minimum ACT score of 29 or a minimum SAT score of 1,280, be ranked in the upper 10 percent of the class, and have taken upper level courses in mathematics, science, English, and foreign language. The student must also have excellent attendance, be an exemplary school citizen, and be involved in the school activity program.
Now in its 32nd year, the program stands as a "true celebration of learning." According to MoASSP Executive Director Chris Hoehne, these students have challenged themselves with the most rigorous coursework while maintaining the highest levels of excellence and community involvement. The Mo Scholars 100 will be honored at a luncheon in May in Columbia.
Congratulations to these academic all-stars, as well as to Sebastian De Las Heras and Jordan Barrett, both from FZS, who earned Honorable Mention.
