Fort Zumwalt School District welcomes Tierra Morris as Benefits Manager effective later this month. She joins the district with 17 years of experience in several different areas. Morris has worked on the insurance side and on the healthcare provider side, but she also has more than five years of experience in K-12 public education, having worked for Parkway and St. Louis Public Schools.
Morris has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Lindenwood University. She will lead the Benefits department, which includes herself and two secretaries, as they provide support to the district’s roughly 2,800 benefits-eligible employees in everything from medical, dental and vision insurance to retirement planning.
“Overall I'm looking forward to meeting the staff and building productive working relationships with them,” Morris says. “My main goals coming in as the new Benefits Manager will be to understand the current benefits program, engage with employees to assess their needs and, if need be, work to develop a strategic plan to make improvements to the current programs.”
When she’s not at work, time with her husband and teen-aged children is the priority.
