Kids dressed as doctors holding bags that represent the digestive system

Progress South 1st graders brought their Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) Human Body Systems unit to life today during their annual "Doctor Day"! Suited up in medical gowns and masks, students rotated through hands-on learning stations in each classroom to explore how the human body works. From interactive science simulations, like squeezing baggies to model how the stomach digests food, to learning about the circulatory and skeletal systems, our young medical professionals were engaged and having fun.

Students also had the opportunity to hear from a guest nurse, who shared real-world insights about working in healthcare and answered curiosity-filled questions from our eager learners. It was a memorable day of hands-on discovery, teamwork, and fun that truly brought learning off the page and into the classroom!
