Coach Swanson joins us from Maryville University, where he earned his degree in secondary mathematics education. While attending, he founded and coached the men's club team at Maryville. He brings with him experience coaching middle school and high school club volleyball, in addition to his time at Maryville. He is a proud alum of Francis Howell Central, where he was named All-State All-Tournament team his junior year.
His favorite sports memory was: My sophomore year on my JV volleyball team we beat SLUH. Although that is just JV volleyball and in the grand scheme of things was quite insignificant, that was the first time I remember playing a high-quality game with a team who wanted success for each other. I remember after that game my coach asked us, "Did you have fun?". When you can play competitively, that is the rush that ties us to this game.
