Coach Longo has been a swimmer from age 4 through college. Over the years, he has grown up playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. During his high school career, he did football, baseball, and swimming. As a swimmer, he was a 2 year captain, points leader, and athlete of the month, as well as earning the prestigious activity "Gold Circle" award. During college, he helped the swim program introduce the boys' swim team at the collegiate level. As a coach, he has coached football, water polo, swimming, baseball, track, volleyball, golf, and flag football.

Favorite Sport Memory: Some of my greatest coaching moments were going to state with my football Warriors and the last eight years at Fort Zumwalt East taking several swimmers and divers to compete at state and breaking records.

Hobbies outside of Coaching: I like to refinish furniture, landscaping, gardening, cooking, and thrifting for antiques. I am a big collector of things, and I would like to say they are all valuable.

The smile on athletes faces after they run a great race or set a new PR. That makes it all worth it when their hard work turns into results.

What excites him the most about joining the Lion Pride? I am excited to watch the programs grow through student-led motivation to make this school amazing while creating lasting memories for our student athletes. Coaching is an extra reward to the teaching occupation because that is where you can continue getting to know your students outside of the classroom and build better and stronger relationships to help build a proper school climate and culture.
