While her signature event has long been the 500-freestyle, Maya showed her incredible range this year by breaking the 50-freestyle record previously held by Ashley Turpin, with a lightning-fast time of 26.44 seconds. Maya qualified for State in both the 200 and 500 freestyle, ultimately placing 7th in the State in the 500. In her final season with the Lions, she leaves as a true All-State Athlete.
