Fort Zumwalt East Lions

Our district indoor percussion team, housed at Zumwalt East, was recently reclassified by WGI, its governing body. This means our Mod Z has moved up to the Percussion Independent Open division. We had our first competition in that division at Howell North this past weekend and took home the championship! They competed against Freedom Percussion and Heartland Indoor Percussion (based in Cape Girardeau). Each of those teams' average age of competitors is 20 years old, meaning our high school team really stepped up and beat collegiate-level percussion teams. Our Modulation Z team will compete in Dayton next week for the world championship. They take with them a ranking of 6th worldwide into the competitive weekend. Let's go Modulation Z!
