Brooke Petry, Jessica Northrup, Madison Bailey, Lyndi Ferguson

At Fort Zumwalt East, the classroom is just the beginning. This year, we are incredibly proud to celebrate three educators nominated for Teacher of the Year who define what it means to be a "triple threat": outstanding teachers, dedicated coaches, and passionate club sponsors.

These women exemplify the "East Side Pride" by investing their time long after the final bell rings.

Brooke Petry – Building Culture on and off the Field

Coach Petry has been a cornerstone of the FZE Softball program for six years, the last four as Head Coach. Her impact, however, reaches every corner of our building. Brooke leads our Enterprise students, teaching real-world skills through their staff lunch program, and organizes the school's Craft Fairs that bring our community together. Known for her "culture of gratitude," she also goes the extra mile by personally creating thank-you bags for the officials who work our games.

Jessica Northrup – The Keeper of Memories

As the sponsor of the Yearbook Club, Jessica Northrup holds a vital role in our school’s legacy. She spends countless hours ensuring that every highlight, every heartbreak, and every victory is preserved in a format that makes us all proud to be Lions. Thanks to her vision and leadership, our students have a professional-grade record of their high school years that they will cherish forever.

Madison Bailey – A Lion Giving Back

Madison Bailey brings a special perspective to our halls as a Proud FZE Alum. Returning to her roots, she stepped into the role of Head Dance Coach this year and has already made a massive impact. Madison has successfully fostered an environment that is both highly competitive and deeply inclusive, proving that you can push for excellence while ensuring every dancer feels they belong in the den.

Lyndi Ferguson – The Ultimate Encourager

In the fast-paced world of education, Lyndi Ferguson is known for her incredible efficiency and her ability to work at lightning speed, but it is her heart for students that truly stands out. A master relationship builder, Lyndi is a true confidence builder in the classroom, serving as a constant source of encouragement for every Lion she encounters. Her teaching style is super inclusive, ensuring that every student—regardless of their starting point—feels welcomed, heard, and empowered to participate. Lyndi doesn't just manage a classroom; she creates a community where every student can thrive.

Congratulations to Brooke, Jessica, Madison, and Lyndi! Thank you for the countless hours you spend making FZE a better place for our students.
