Carrie Topping, Rob Hawkins, Heather Rouse, David Walker

While our athletes often steal the spotlight, the engine of Fort Zumwalt East is fueled by the dedicated staff members who go above and beyond every single day. We are thrilled to recognize four outstanding individuals who have earned nominations for the FZE Employee of the Year.

Each of these nominees represents the heart of "East Side Pride," contributing their time, talent, and passion to our students.

Rob Hawkins – The Original Lion

Coach Hawkins isn't just a mainstay at East; he’s part of the foundation. Having started at FZE when the doors first opened in 2007, he is an "Original Lion." His leadership spans three seasons, coaching Boys Golf, Girls Golf, and Boys Basketball. His longevity and dedication to multi-sport coaching have mentored generations of athletes on and off the court.

Heather Rouse – Champion of Inclusion

Heather Rouse serves as a vital Paraprofessional in our building, but her impact stretches far into our athletic community. Alongside Ms. Senseney, Heather coaches the Pride Pack, our unified sports team. Her commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to compete and belong is a beautiful reflection of our school’s values.

Carrie Topping – The Ultimate Fan

If there is an FZE event happening, chances are Carrie Topping is there. While her official title is Finance Clerk, she is unofficially FZE’s #1 Fan. From games and plays to musical performances, Carrie is always in the crowd. Beyond her cheers, she is known for her kindness, frequently treating our students to snacks and a warm smile throughout the day.

David Walker – The Man Behind the Stream (Employee of the Year!)

In an era where technology is the bridge between our school and the community, David Walker is indispensable. As our Building Tech, David ensures our livestreaming services are seamless and our daily technology needs are met. Without his behind-the-scenes expertise, many of our favorite moments wouldn't make it to the screens of fans at home.

Please join us in congratulating these four incredible nominees! We are lucky to have them in our den.
