Junior Alanna Hayes competed today in the GAC Tennis Tournament hosted by Wentzville Holt High School. Her first match was a rematch with an opponent who had just narrowly defeated her just a week ago. Today, Alanna had to battle back from being down a set and then had to battle back in her tie-break after being down 9-6. The tie break is a race to ten points and win by two. Instead of crumbling under pressure, she buckled down and tied the break at 9 and went on to win the tie break 12-10. It was a fantastic match and set her up to move on to the semi-finals where she lost to her next opponent. In the third-place match, Alanna won and brought home the bronze in our GAC North/Central Tournament. Congratulations to Alanna and all our players competing today!
The Lion tennis team will take on individual district this Thursday at North Point High School and will compete in team districts on Monday, October 12th at a location to be named later.
