This week, we are proud to recognize Coach Petry, our East High softball coach, for embodying true Community Value. Coach Petry has gone above and beyond in her service to our school and community, hosting both Senior Night and the Hope at Bat fundraiser. She not only brought together parents, staff, and athletes but also created meaningful opportunities for her Enterprise students to be involved—helping set up, fundraising, and engaging with the crowd. Through her leadership, our paras, her students, and families worked side by side to make both events a success. She even collaborated with the opposing team to create shirts that represented both schools, uniting our district for a cause. Her efforts raised money for the American Cancer Society and built lasting connections within our community. Coach Petry truly represents what it means to lead with service, unity, and heart.
As a coach at East, I believe community means creating a space where every individual feels seen, valued, and supported. When we foster a true sense of community, we create a deep sense of belonging. We show up for each other, celebrate each other's growth, and grow stronger together - not just as athletes, but as people.
