The Fort Zumwalt Education Foundation provides forgivable loans to Fort Zumwalt students who become educators in high-need areas and return to Fort Zumwalt to teach. Awarded students receive $4,000 per semester for four years, additional mentorship, and professional development opportunities. This application is open to all students wanting to become certified teachers!

Since 2005, the Fort Zumwalt Education Foundation has been providing comprehensive support to OUR graduates who want to be amazing educators in high-need areas! The program provides a forgivable loan, professional development opportunities, and a guaranteed position upon graduation.
GYOT participants receive $4,000 each semester, up to 8 semesters, to help pay for tuition and other college expenses. The loan is forgiven after the participant has taught at FZSD for 4 years. Our very own FZSD donates over $30K each year to support this program.
Eligible applicants will be graduating during the 25-26 school year, maintain a GPA of 3.0+, have 95% attendance, and demonstrate an aptitude for teaching.
Certifications in high-demand: Special Education, Speech and Language Therapist, Industrial Technology, English Language Learners, Physics, and High School Math and Science.
