A little wet weather couldn't stop the incredible energy and excitement at our school Walk-A-Thon on Wednesday, May 6th. While the rain forced a quick change of plans, moving the activities to the blacktop area, the enthusiasm of our students and staff remained sky-high.
Throughout the day, each grade level took to the blacktop, walking and jogging in spirited circles. The laps were a victory run to celebrate the massive success of our recent fundraising efforts dedicated to upgrading our school playground.
The high-energy walking tracks weren't the only highlight of the day. To celebrate hitting our goals, students got the ultimate reward: the chance to dump ice buckets over some of their favorite staff members and launch pies directly into the faces of others! The laughter and cheers could be heard from blocks away as the brave staff took it all in stride.
Ultimately, the event was a massive celebration of the sheer generosity of our school community. Together, we raised an astonishing $20,777 for our playground improvements. From the rainy-day resilience to the pie-covered smiles, it was truly a day to remember.
