Checking in at FZW!
Volunteerism is a big part of the work done in Leadership classes at all Fort Zumwalt high schools. FZW’s Lee Hardy has built a strong connection with the City of O’Fallon to provide students an avenue to explore volunteer opportunities and to help the city with beautification work and other projects. Megan Piel visited this week to kick things off with the new class, starting with swag and snacks. #FZCommunity

Thank you @CentralCountyFire for dropping off backpacks for students in need. The outpouring of support from our community helps ensure all students are ready to start the school year on the right foot. When we all do our part, they all can reach their potential. #FZAllMeansAll

Looking for signs school is starting? Our annual supply pick-up for families in need was a resounding success this morning. The weather forced volunteers to flip to a drive-through mode, but smiles were everywhere as staff was able to connect with students and families again after the long summer off. Fort Zumwalt is proud to partner with a number of community agencies such as Grace River Church, Sunrise Church, Friedens United Church of Christ, One Financial, Lou Fusz, Thrivent and countless individuals who provide school supplies and so much more for neighbors in need. Those interested in supporting our school supply closet or weekend backpack food programs can connect with Melissa Tichy at our District Office. Those in need of assistance should connect with their school counselor, and click over to go.FZSD.us/BackToSchool to complete the federal free-and-reduced meal form. FZ offices will be back to regular hours, Monday through Friday, beginning next week. #FZAllMeansAll #FZCommunity
