Fort Zumwalt is the only public school district on the list of 19 Missouri companies recognized on Forbes 2024 list of America’s Best Midsize Employers.
In partnership with market research firm Statista, Forbes asked 170,000 US-based workers at American companies to rate their employer and if they would recommend their employer to others. Surveys were sent to current employees and to former employees within two years of employment. In addition, “individuals familiar with the company through friends, family or peers in their industry” also were surveyed. Surveys of current employees carried greater weight.
Forbes recognized Fort Zumwalt School District as among the Best Employers in Missouri in 2020 and 2023.
“New to the methodology this year was the inclusion of data from the past three years—with more recent data weighted more heavily—to better identify companies that have been rated well consistently over time,” according to the Forbes website. Once the surveys were tallied, the top 1,000 scores made the national list, 400 on the Best Midsize list and 600 on the Best Large Employers list.
