Missouri School Public Relations Association

The Missouri School Public Relations Association gives its members the opportunity to have their work evaluated by PR professionals and measured against industry standards. In the 2022 MOSPRA Communications Awards Program, Fort Zumwalt School District was recognized with an:

  • Award of Excellence in the Marketing/Special Purpose Publication category for the district’s quarterly newsletter, which is distributed to almost 70,000 homes within the district’s boundary.
  • Award of Merit in the Golden Achievement category for the FZ Prop 4 campaign, which informed all stakeholders of the maintenance, upgrades and additions the district would be able to perform if the $125-million no-tax-increase bond issue were passed. Voters approved the measure with a 68 percent yes vote in April.
  • Award of Commendation in the Marketing/Special Purpose Publication category for FORTiTUDE. Now in its fifth season, the district podcast is available on most podcast apps, on YouTube at FORTiTUDEonair and on the district’s website, just click the FORTiTUDE button.

Each submission in the program was judged by two professionals in the field of education public relations. One of the category judges of the Fort Zumwalt newsletter entry wrote: “This newsletter effectively communicated the successes and accomplishments for the school year and does a very good job of explaining the impact of budgeting and how the district spends and uses the money it receives.”

MOSPRA President Erica Chandler said: “The MOSPRA Communications Awards Program not only recognizes exemplary school public relations programs, but also provides valuable feedback from public relations professionals to help our members continue to improve their work. Congratulations to this year's honorees on this well-deserved recognition.”
